EXTENSOR DIGITORUM BREVIS

OK, SINCE THIS BLOG IS ABOUT SHOES, WHY NOT TALK ABOUT WHAT YOU PUT INTO THOSE SHOES......THE FOOT. WHO KNOWS, MAYBE SOME OF YOU WILL LEARN SOMETHING.

EXTENSOR DIGITORUM BREVIS (EDB)
Originating at the superior lateral surface of the Calcaneous & inserting into the bases of the middle phalanges of the 2nd through 4th toes, the EDB has the responsibility of extending the metatarsophalangeal & proximal interphalangeal joints of those toes. In other words, pulling your 3 middle toes up & back toward your shin. Just think when you're walking or pushing off the ground on your back foot with the heel up...those 3 toes are extended in that position (they're closer to the shin) & the EDB helps to stabilize those toes in that position.
