BACK FROM THE SNOWY MOUNTAINS THIS PAST THANKSGIVING WEEKEND. I FIGURED I WOULD START WITH THESE SINCE THEY PERFORMED GREAT UP IN THE SNOW. I'VE ALWAYS LIKED SALOMON FOORWEAR BECAUSE TO ME THEY ARE SOME OF THE BEST LOOKING OUTDOOR SHOES. THIS ONE IS NO EXCEPTION. THIS ONE IS THE BEST LOOKING HIKING/TREKKING BOOT I'VE EVER SEEN. GCS STANDS FOR GROUND CONTROL SYSTEM - THEIR FORM OF CUSHIONING. GTX IS GORTEX (WATERPROOFING MATERIAL). DON'T LET THE BOLD APPEARANCE FOOL YOU. THESE BOOTS ARE EXCEPTIONALLY LIGHT. IT PROBABLY WEIGHTS THE SAME AS THE AVERAGE TENNIS SHOE. HIKING IN 20 DEGREE WEATHER AT NIGHT, MY FEET FELT THE MOST COMFORTABLE. THE TOP 3 HOOKS ON THE BOOT SNAP & LOCK THE LACES IN PLACE, WHICH IS CONVENIENT SHOULD THE LACES COME UNTIED.
