#29 PUMA BY YASHUHIRO MIHARA MY-6
ANOTHER GREAT & SUCCESSFUL COLLAB BETWEEN A WELL-KNOWN SPORTSWEAR BRAND & AN AVANT-GARDE JAPANESE DESIGNER (JUST LIKE Y-3) IS THE WORK BETWEEN PUMA & YASHUHIRO MIHARA. KNOWN MOSTLY FOR THE SNEAKERS AS OPPOSED TO AN ENTIRE LINE, THE MIHARA PUMA MODEL REPRESENT A CUTTING EDGE & SOMETIMES EXPERIMENTAL EXCURSION INTO SNEAKER DESIGN & AESTHETICS. OFTEN TIMES IT'S ABOUT RE-INTERPRETATIONS OF CLASSIC/OLDER PUMA MODELS & OTHER TIMES, WELL......KIND OF FAR OUT THERE. MIHARA DEFINITELY PUSHES THE BOUNDRIES ON THINGS.
THIS MODEL IS THE MY-6 (THE "MY" REPRESENTING MIHARA YASHUHIRO). LIKE THE AIR JORDAN LINE, WITH EACH SUCCESSIVE MODEL, THE NUMBERS INCREASE. THE MY-6 WAS ONE OF THE FIRST MODELS TO HELP BRING RECOGNITION TO THIS COLLAB THANKS TO NEIMAN MARCUS & SAKS CARRYING THIS MODEL DURING THAT SEASON....HELPING TO EXPOSE PUMA TO A HIGHER END TRENDY MARKET. THIS INTERESTING MODEL TAKES THE CONCEPT OF PLACING A HEEL CUP ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE SHOE INCORPORATING IT AS PART OF THE SOLE.
